The history of the Mario Portolano brand originated in 1895,
with Fortunato, Mario's grandfather, who founded the leather glove factory.
The eldest son Albert, always open to new ventures,
developed the glove factory and founded the tannery and leather dyeing business.
Son Mario continues with passion and enthusiasm on the road thus traced.

The Portolanos are in their fourth entrepreneurial generation.
Production, which has its own high-end brand and lines in alliance with high-fashion and ready-to-wear designers and maisons, is full-cycle: from the leather tanning stage to the dyeing stage to the final processing of gloves.
The quality of craftsmanship is combined with that of materials and the creativity of design.
